Go for an early morning game drive after breakfast in the Kasenyi plains, which offer stunning views of the endless lush savannah plains, and Lake George. On the trails, you will encounter the Uganda kobs, more elephants, hyenas, buffalo, lions, and leopards. Thereafter, return to the lodge to relax for a while before lunch
After lunch, sail along the Kazinga channel to delight in seeing plenty of hippos, buffalo, elephants, crocodiles, waterbucks, and several birds, like the saddle-billed stork, and pink-backed pelicans on the waterside. This boat ride offers the best bird-watching opportunity in Queen Elizabeth N.P. since over 100 species flock to the channel.
Today is the day you will have an encounter with the mountain gorillas. You will have an early morning breakfast to energize your body in preparation for the strenuous gorilla-tracking trip. Going with packed lunch, you will travel to the ranger’s post at 8:00 am for briefing before going with a ranger to track the gorillas. You may take 2-7 hours searching for these apes in the dense forest. After locating the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend an hour observing them as they communicate with each other in a grumbling manner, play, or copulate. It’s such a memorable experience spending time with these endangered species that are close cousins to man
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge, which is also known as “the Valley of the Apes.” The gorge has approximately 80 habituated chimps that you will track on an exciting trip across rivers, forests, and valleys. Upon finding the primates, you’ll spend an hour observing them as they feed on fruits and interact with each other.
